04 Yd Tach Problem

Ok so I traded my 2000 YD 5.7 4wd in for a 04 YD 6.0 AWD (OMG! I Love this thing!)

and in the process I asked them to swap my red top optima from the 2000 over to the 04.

Well After the swap I fired the 04 up and it wouldnt idle. So we tried a ECU reset, Didnt help.

So the car lot guy decided to swap batterys back thinking my optima was bad.

Didnt solve the problem, still wouldnt idle...

So We decided to drive it for a few mins to see if it needed to re-learn the idle. Which eventually solved the problem.

But now my tack is below zero at idle....

Any clues to why a batt swap would screw up the tach?

I don't know why people love optimas so much, they're not some magical battery, you know. How can the tach go below zero at idle? I thought there was a stopper to keep it from going under like that, it also serves as a calibration point for the gauge. Is it idling right when the gauge is under zero? If so, you might just have to take the gauges apart and recalibrate the tach by hand.

Bleh on the optima. I have had it for years, Its my lil red wh0re! its been in and out of so many vehicals and used to start atv's etc for longer than I can remember. It just wont die!

Anyways, yup its idleing perfectly when the tack is below zero.

I now know why there is so mutch hype about the 6.0 its a friggin beast vs 5.3, 5.7 yukons!

Cant wait to get LT's, CAI, Electric fan and a TUNE!!!!

Just got to sell my 76 bronco, 91 S10, 2 boats, 2 4wheelers, motorcycle, and various other toys before I can spend anything on the 6.0.

You guys WTB anything? LOL
