Pancho Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Has anyone debadged their truck and not been happy with the results? I am getting ready to spend the weekend applying several coats of Zaino and am considering the removal of the emblems and side molding. My concern is door dinges w/o the molding but since I park in the furthest possible spot (wife and kids think I have lost it) anyway, it might be minimized. BTW my truck is Onyx Black and I think it would look pretty cool based on some of your pics. Maybe I will break down and get a digital camera on of these days to post mine. Thanks in advance.
chevy4x4trucks Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 I debadged mine, and it looked tons better and made washing and waxing so much easier. Door dings will always happen (that's what dentwizard is for ) but like you said, you park far away. And I don't think that the rubber molding will protect the door all that much. If you install nerf bars that stick our a bit they'll take the impact from most car doors. But, IMO, you should go for it.
Pancho Posted September 6, 2002 Author Posted September 6, 2002 You mentioned dentwizard - do you know if I would have any problems getting dents fixed with two layers of Dynamat? I had the entire cab (quad) double dynamatted after installing new sound system and then had resonance problems with the new exhaust (Magnaflow duals out the back). I ended up fixing the exhaust by adding two 12 inch resonators to tone it down. I assume the extra material would make it harder to dent but also harder to fix should they occur. Am I wrong?
