Love This Sound!

Don't know anything about this company; just know I love the sound of the exhaust system on that truck!

Maybe I haven't been clear about not looking for approval. What ever you do to your truck doesn't matter to me; it's OK.

I just thought someone else would like it, too, seeing how it seems to be something new and different.

Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? I wasn't trying give or take approval, just giving an opinion as that's mostly what this site is about(people's opinions).

Didn't ask for your opinion.

You could build your own quarter wave exhaust and could even tune the sound. All you need to know is what frequency you want to damp out, the number of cylinders pumping, and the exhaust temperature. Now, the only bad thing is, they can be really loud when they aren't attenuating because the wave nature can lead to them adding instead of canceling in the frequencies that you don't want. And, as you see from what you need as inputs, they are highly dependent on exhaust temperature and so therefore will change depending on the day and engine load...etc. Anything that screws with exhaust temp. It is interesting stuff, but typical chambered and restrictive exhaust is much less finicky.

I agree, I post a ton. However, I don't exactly think most are wasted time as many of them are facts and many opinions like above. Then there are some that are just shit, but I work everyday at a computer and sometimes it gets boring. So I needed something to do. I'm working right now, matter of fact. If it was up to me, I'd be outside doing something as I love outside. But, once I get home it's dark and I hate to watch TV, so more GMT forums, it is. And I challenge anyone who thinks most of my posts are wasted time to PM me.

BACK TO THE SUBJECT OF EXHAUST SOUNDS.........Vettelovr, here's something like that I did to a G8 to kill the dreaded 117hZ drone that jumped up when the DOD/AFM switched to 4-cylinder operation. Might have to try this on a truck.

What kind of device do y'all use to figured out what hertz the drone is making? Y'all are definitely more educated than me on exhaust notes. You notice any improvements with that setup?

Cool modification. I've built a few mufflers myself but they were a little more extravagant than the J bend. But hey, if it worked it worked.

It turned that G8 into a Pontiac. Too bad the stealership couldn't fix the water leak into the interior.

There are several spectrum analyzer apps available for iphones and the like that can detect drone when it happens and show the peak frequency. Using a simplified Helmholtz formula to calculate the length of the closed-end j-pipe takes care of the problem very well.
