Amsoil Air Filter

I ordered the Amsoil nanofiber air filter tonight. I decided to switch from the K&N filter to this. I'm interested to see if there is any noticeable reduction in power (which I don't think there will be). I have been running the K&N for about 50,000 miles and havn't had any problems. Honestly I don't care though because I will feel better knowing I have a better filter as far as actual filtration goes. Not knocking the K&N, just don't believe it is the best out there in terms of filtration.

Yeah, I don't believe the K&N is the best at filtering either, but it's probably good enough. If you hold a K&N up to the light, it almost looks like you can see right through some of the holes in it.

I tried the Amsoil nanofiber air filter on my dodge diesel, and was not happy with the results. I had fine dust in the intake hose and also in the turbo. I didn't have that with the stock filter, and going back to the stock filter fixed the problem. It fit well, and there were no visible gaps or anything to account for the dirt getting past the filter. The dealer I purchased it from did refund my money, so that was cool. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did,

I agree with you on the K&N thing. I don't think under normal driving conditions it will be a problem but I would still rather have a better filter. As far as your luck with amsoil filter jusbecuz I as well hope I have better luck with it. I've been looking at it for a while and read a lot of reviews. All the reviews I have read have been positive so I decided to go with it. Thanks for the input though! Anyone else have any experiences with these filters that they would like to share?

Speaking of holding it up to the light, my final decision to change filters came when I was cleaning my K&N Sunday night. I had cleaned it and the next day after letting it dry over night I was inspecting it. When I was holding it up I was thinking how I couldnt believe how easily I could see through many parts of it. Figured that it couldn't be a great idea and decided to switch to something with better filtration.

Please share with us your experience, Amsoil claim filtration much better than the paper filter, also wondering if it flows better?.

I expect it to be delivered next week, once I install it and drive it in a few different conditions for about a week I'll let everyone know my thoughts on it.

I ran a K&N filter on my last truck (on a araid knock off CAI) and never hand any issues with dust on the MAF or anywhere else. I actually purchased two of them so I always had a clean one. What type of Amsoil did you order, a drop in or cone type?

I have AMSOIL front to rear including the air filter and I have no problems with it. I like it because it non-oil base so to clean it, I just take it out and use the air hose to spray it clean then sit it back in. I have not noticed any dirt in the MIT tube at all so I think its doing its job. If it isn't, its doing a hell of a job covering it up. hahaha.

Overall any AMSOIL product I have gotten has worked better then anything I have tried. Their oil is by far the best I have used. At the end of my one year term I sent my oil to the lab and they said it was better then good, I could have gone another 5,000 plus.

This is my .02 on their products. I know some people feel that changing their oil once/twice a year is too risky...but I have the lab results to prove that its ok to do.

It's a drop in dry filter. Supposed to be excellent filtration while still better air flow than stock. Here is the link for it.

More specifically the link below is for the filter I ordered, the first one has more info on the technology behind the filter though.

good to know. had a oil base filter and it became a three day process as you had to clean the old oil off and let it dry overnight then oil the filter and let it dry/settle overnight. don't have that long to let my truck sit.

AMSOIL air filters with nanofiber technology allow for better air flow through the filter as it loads up with dirt. Here is the You Tube video on the

The video is a little over 9 minutes long.
