Warranty Maintenance...good Or Bad

Just went in for the 6k oil change/tire rotation on a 2010 silverado...5.3 $86 dollars and some change for a tire rotation/oil/filter. Same stuff done to Jeep Patriot costs Me under 30 each time at the dealer. Actually the Jeep dealer sends out "specials" to all owner's for a 9.95 oil change. I would have to pay extra for the tire rotation.

Trying to get a feel if this is too much or just the usual throughout the Country pricing ?

Thanks in advance to all.

Go to Discount tire or a Goodyear shop. They will sell you a lifetime balance/rotation for like 40 bucks. A synthetic oil change will run you about 50 bucks at a local quick lube shop. Regular oil will be significantly cheaper.

You paid took much, like terzmo said. Look for local shop. Or you can change your own oil, I do and run synthetic and it only cost me $30 for oil & oil filter.

You paid way too much. I can get an oil change and tire rotation at the dealer I go to for just over $30. If it was just the oil change it would be even cheaper. Regular oil cost me $2.50/qt plus about $5 bucks for the filter from the dealer.

Now I'm reminded of how much I miss working there. When I worked at the dealership I could change my oil and rotate my tires all on my lunch break for less than $15. Good times. :dunno:

I posted it on the board when I bought My truck and the dealership replied stating I was given the lowest price without the discount so they wouldn't honor the vet credit. So why does GM offer a vet credit because they also said I was given a better price without it. So using that logic, if I demanded the credit as a vet, I would of paid more than a criminal, so in essence, the credit is worthless. Support the troops but don't give them the best price I guess. They want it both ways...Patriotic and a few more bucks in the coffers. People on here thought it was great the dealer stepped up to the plate and told his side of the story so I guess they supported the decision not to apply the vet discount. So I got hosed twice.

You got off cheap. Audi wanted $265 and that didn't include tire rotation. Of course it did include a diagnostic scan. :P
