Any Ideas

Fire Extinguisher

I don't know if having an extinguisher in the car is just a law in Saudi but as you can imagine from the piccie, this really gets in the way for the passenger. Any ideas of alternative locations, preferrably with locating holes ?

i would either re-work that bracket or make my own to run the extinguisher parallel to the front of the seat and put it on the drivers side as the driver usually has his/her legs stretched out. basically it would be under your knees. or some how attach it to the front of the jump seat or the bottom of the dash in front of the jump seat ( i assume the jump seat never gets used like in my truck.

Never thought of that one. I go on quite long drives from Riyadh to Jubail in cruise usually so I'll check out the positioning for when I'm moving my legs around.

Yep, the jump seat never gets used, a total and utter waste of space. I am hoping to get a console and do a swap out.

I'd move it over and mount it to the tranny hump.

Yeah, sorry should have said in the first post. I am hoping to get hold of a console and swap out the jump seat.

They sell a fire extinguisher for the Silverado on gmaccessorieszone.com but don't see one listed for the Yukon. On a side note, anyone know where this is mounted in the picture? I don't have any little cubby like that on my truck, at least not that I have been able to find yet.

Heck half of America could not use a fire extinguisher if there life depended on it. They would waste the entire extinguisher and then be required to piss on the fire to put it out.

I have one under my back seat in my truck. My antiques have LARGE one in the trunk and a smaller one behind the front seat on the drivers side.

Where did you get that bracket???? Is that A GM Bracket? or Aftermarket?

I think it must be a GM bracket, as it came already installed the car from new.

Does it have to be in the front seat area? If not, I'd move that sucker all the way to the back of the truck.

And nope...Nobody here is required to have one in their vehicle except on some race tracks, depending on the class you're racing in.

Heh...Mount it on the ceiling.

No, I don't think it has to be in the front. I never use the 3rd row of seats, so I think somewhere in the back is gonna be best. I just didn't know if anyine knew of any locating points, without having to start drilling etc.

id say right behind the jumpseat/console area

That could be a possibility. As the bracket could possibly just bolt straight onto the fixing bolt at the back of the front seat. A little fettling of the bracket just might do it.

then it would still be in arms reach
