Lost My Brakes When Abs Kicked In And Never Came Back

While stopping hard for a red light (it turned yellow while approaching), my front right tire went over a deeply recessed man hole cover and the abs kicked in like it should. When the abs was done, I had very little brakes, virtually none. The reservoir on the master cylinder is full and I see no evidence of a leak or broken line, in fact the lines look good. The is no warning light either. I suspect the abs valve or the master cylinder. I'm leaning more towards the valve. Any ideas on what else it could be?

my truck did the same thing one day. nearly crashed. never happened again though

 

a guy I know had a similar truck and swears up and down the same thing caused him to rear end a vehicle. I thought he was full of shit before it happened to me.

Take it to a place that has sand or dirt on the road and do a couple of ABS lockups and see if it will reset its self.

its the abs ensor on the hub... happened to me also and the sensor turned out to be bad..

I've almost crashed into people as well when the stupid ABS system on my 99 engaged when braking and going over a pothole or manhole cover.
