Go down to the auto parts store and my the stuff in an aerosol can that specifically say, "Brake Dust Remover".  That normally works good.  Just make sure you don't breath any of the dust in.

My experience with brake dust is that the best thing is "preventative maintenance".....meaning several good coats of wax or, better yet, Zaino will make it alot easier to remove when you do get it.  Its ALOT easier to get off and keep off with a well polished/waxed/Zaino'd vehicle.

I agree with Newbie on this one.  PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE!!!  But on the backs of the rims, I take them off every 6 weeks or so and scrub the #### out of them.  I put a coat of wax on the rims the day I took delivery.  Parents thought I was nutso, but I don't have the caked os crap when i remove the rims.  Who's nuts now!  LOL

If the dust has been there for some time, products such as Simple Green and elbow grease work. Once it's off, NewbieZ71, is right. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE is the answer. I put a light coat of Z-2 on each wheel. It takes a few minutes but it's worth it.
