Gm800 - Rear View Mirror - Temp / Compass

I have the standard GM800 rear view mirror with the compass and the outside temperature reading in the top right corner.

What is driving me nuts is that some days it works and somtimes it don't. There is no rhyme or reason. I've checked high and low for loose connections, wires, fuses, etc. and am not sure where else to look from here.

I would love to hear your recommendations or theories.

Damn thing has been working all week... There was one day that it was working when I left work and stopped working on the way home. I tapped the mirror and the display came back on.

So, I will assume that there is something loose inside the mirror itself.

I have the same rear view mirror and a few months ago I had to replace my windshield. After the techs were done and I was able to drive my truck I noticed the mirror wasn't working. The techs didn't fully plug in the harness to the mirror so I plugged it in the rest of the way & it worked. Unfortunately I have random days that it still gives me fits but all it takes is a bump on the harness. I think what happened was the techs didn't know how to unplug the mirror properly and must have bent/enlongated a pin inside that actual harness, haven't confirmed yet. Mine hasn't been too finiky so I just live with it, but if you do find a fix let us know.

I'll check that again... I have pulled the plug and checked the leads for voltage and didn't notice anything out of the way then. I have, however had 3 windshields installed in this truck over the last 7 years.
