Cracked End Caps

Today I noticed that the bumper end caps on my GMT-900 appear to be cracked. Both caps appear to have a crack, but one is worse than the other. When you run your fingers across the cracks, you can feel them.

 

Has anyone else noticed this on their trucks? I plan to show the dealer this week.

mine are ok 2009.

Cant see the cracks in the pics. I dont see how they can crack you can just about bend them in half as they are very flexable.

It almost looks like the paint cracked, and not the actual cap. Either way, the lines were not there last time I waxed the truck.

i have an '09 and it has the same "lines" on the caps. wasn't very thrilled to find them!

By the looks of those lines, I would have to say they're parting lines from the moulding process. Too straight to be from fatigue, or movement. Find it hard to believe that they "just appeared".

 

I'd say that ALL end caps will have them.

I have some pictures from the truck several weeks ago, and the lines are not visible.

I wonder if that is a seam...and for some reason, now it is noticeable...

They have been on my bumper from day one. I would have to agree that they are left by the mold. At first I thought they were paint lines.
