Were All 2008 Yukon Denali Awd?

Actually I guess I know the answer now but I was under the impression that all 2007/2008/2009 Denali were AWD.

Anyway, I bought a 2008 Yukon XL Denali and just assumed it was AWD, the dealer even had the windshield marked AWD, but when I looked underneath it today, it is definitely RWD.

It doesn't really bother me as I got a great deal on it and I live in Miami, although I do tow a 28' boat and it could have been useful a time or two at a slippery boat ramp.

But does anyone have any idea of how many were RWD vs AWD? When I did the VIN search at compnine.com it said my Denali is one of one made that year.

Just curious, thanks.

I am pretty sure that 2008 was the first year a 2WD Denali was available. Sounds like your dealer has some explaining to do.

Look at your Vin

If it is 1GYFK ---> its a AWD

If its a 1GYEC ---> Its a RWD

I've got a 2007 Escalade and its an AWD although it did come with the option of RWD and it was 4 thousand MSRP less. If its a 2wd, give it back to your dealer, 2wds also sell for less used and they are harder to sell as well.

My Sierria Denali came in AWD or RWD. Up in Canada, I don't even know if they sold the RWD version, but a lot of people down south like you bought them.

I'd definately talk to the dealer. Even if you're happy with the RWD, I'd expect some money back on it.

Yes, try to find out what a 2WD vs the 4WD is worth & make sure you didn't overpay.

Sounds like quite the place when they don't even know what they're selling :thumbs: .

I am hoping to go look at a escalade this weekend that is listed as rwd, but the owner says the engine is a 6.0????

I admit an escalade owner may not spend much time under the car, but I don't think that combination was offered.

If it's the big engine I will just swap in a beefy trans, if its the smaller engine it is probably a rwd.
