Advanced Remote Installed

Well, I finally got the Advanced remote installed and I have mixed emotions about it. The installation took about 2-1/2 hours at the dealership.

 

The fob is about double the size but I expected that. The buttons aren't raised very much so, you can't just feel with your finger what button your on.

 

The features:

Remote starts, and reports if the trucks running, as well as a count down of run time.

Obviously locked or unlocked and which doors are locked, security on/off

What radio station is set, and gives you the ability to change the station to another preset

Trucks mileage

Amount of fuel

Tire pressure in each tire

 

I've noticed that if I lock the doors by hand, the fob doesn't report the doors being locked till I press one of the lock buttons on the fob. The main menu comes on when you press one of the buttons twice, but the problem I have with it,... is it doesn't stay on for more than 2-3 seconds. Quite annoying.

 

The range is better and really the main reason I wanted it, but the size of the fob is throwing me some. I guess time will tell if I really think it's worth it.

Yes As someone else said, Its a beast especially with the 3.73's

We just installed one in my cousins '08 Impala SS,This is his biggest issue also

Had one on my 07'....I didn't end up liking it and haven't missed it on my 09...the problem I had with it was...the screen stayed nice for a while, then got scratched up a little bit from regular use and then you couldn't read it that well...make sure you put your keys in a careful place I guess

I love the 3.73 gears, I just don't have the 6.2L.

 

Kinda makes me just want to put the regular factory remote start on mine.

Good info. I want to add remote start to mine, but haven't decided on 2way or 1way yet. Leaning towards 1way for the smaller fob.

Not that I know of,But I know my cousin is going to look into it and see if theres something that can be done.
