have an 03 tahoe with 285/50/20 tires for the summer, id like to get some different tires for the vehicle to run in the snow and ice

so i decided on the 255/55/20. just would like to actualt see them mounted and some opinions before i buy..thanks

255/55/20 seems like an awfully small tire size when stock is 275/55/20

the tahoe was lowered a little by the previous owner..the 255/55 is the same height as the 285/55 just an 1" or so skinnier. much better for the snow

285/55/20 = 32.3" tall

255/55/20 = 31" tall

 

So the 255 is over 1" shorter and over 1" thinner.

 

Or you're not posting the right #'s

im gonna use 255/55. ABOUT the same height, 1.21 skinnier

I ran a 255/55/18 on one of my old s10s but that wont do you much good.
