jake1530 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I have a 2005 GMC 1500 Sierra with 67,000 miles and will be needing brakes. Ok, had my mechanic check my front brakes the other day. I had asked him about how much life do I have left on them (just a quesstamit), and he said about 10,000 miles. This will get me through the winter, I would have rather either, get them done now, or in the spring, so I should be all set. Anyway, I won’t be doing the work, but do you guys have any suggestions on what type of brake ie: parts or brand names I should ask for? I’m sure he has his regular supplier, but if I asked him to install a certain type he would accommodate. Thanks in advance guys; you’ve always been helpful, Jake.

jake1530 Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 Thanks TXCAB, I read though all of those posts, now I’m really confused. I did get a little satisfaction though. I’m right where most guys are with replacing the brakes 76,000. I guess I’ll just have him replace them with what he uses.
