Supercharged 6l Denali Needs A Beefy Tranny..any Ideas?

is there a way to use a allison tranny in a 6l gas denali? blown the stock tranny twice in 6 months, the stock trans wont hold up to a supercharged 6l .. or is there a way to beef up a stock trans to put up with wild power and constant abuse??

There's def. upgrades that can be done. Harder sun shell, kevlar bands, shift actuators. Do a little research and you should come up with ALOT of options.

Built 4l80E should handle it..

No way to fit an Allison and besides, you don't want to rob that kind of HP from it.

 

If I remember right, the Denali's got a 4L60/65E trans. They should be capable of handling the power, especially

if they are built right. If not, a 4L80/85E swap should be no big deal.

a FLT 5 would be more than enough. there are people who have S/C 6L that are on over 50,000 mi on stock 4L65E's if you beat the snot out of anything it will fail, just a matter of time.. one of the big issues in keeping the trans alive is not to jack up your line pressure to high, and a spot on trans settings in your tune..have heard of trans not lasting 100 mi on a bad tune..

I believe someone on the Denali site did a 4l80E swap. If not there is a ton of info on the 4l65E in the AWD/Trans section on their forum. There is a lot of great info on this site but you can find Denali specific info at www.denalitrucks.com

TransmissionCenter linked above is BAD BAD news, FLT does very good work.

 

I agree with those saying a PROPERLY built 4L60/4L65E should handle this. Trouble with this tranny is more hacks trying to build them than shops that know what they are doing.

 

Rossler would be another shop to look at.
