i just figured i would introduce myself and my truck, iv been around several chevy fourms trying to find one i like. most have been full of half ton guys not that that makes much differance but the HD trucks are a different animal. i just recently bought my 01 chevy 2500hd 8.1L allision slt 4wd and sold my 96 ford powerstroke wich was a great truck btw but with 260k miles on it, it was time for a newer truck here are some pictures of my new (to me) truck

 

 

and so far all iv done to it is a tune up new fuel filter all fuilds and filters where changed by the dealership before picking it up as well as a bran new set of tires and i installed my cb radio

thank you for the warm welcome, also while going threw some records that came with the truck i came across this

yes the 8.1L really gets things moving the first day that i had the truck i kept accidentally breaking the back tires loose. the truck has a ton of tq right off idle something i wasn't used to after driving a oil burner the last 4 years where you have got to get the turbo spooled up before it made good power. the 8.1L allision with 4.10 gears seems like a great combination for everything but fuel millage. but i did not buy the truck for fuel millage i bought it as a work horse. so far im getting between 9-10 city and 11 highway i would not mind a couple more mpgs but not going to spend a ton of money to get them, probably a drop in k@n and dual it out with some reasonably quiet mufflers, right now its so quiet its like driving a hybrid car i would like a little bit of rumble when i roll the windows down.

awesome truck man, congrats im jealous. i have the same exact CB, never thought of putting it in that spot.. thats a really good idea i might have to relocate my CB.
