Wingnut Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Sure it will...The tune (that will be required with a Maggie anyway) can disable it. However...AFM only comes on at lower RPM's with a low throttle position (very light loads) ...And the Maggie has a bypass valve that keeps you out of boost under the same conditions. Hell...You may not have to disable it. /just thinking out loud, don't know if they play well together and I've never done an install on an AFM equipped vehicle, so I'm talking out of my ass

Ryan00TJ Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 IMO, If you can afford the Maggie and want to do it right, spend the extra $$ and time and replace the AFM lifters with a set of LS7's and do away with AFM by tuning and the heavy complicated AFM lifters that can fail on stock applications. With the LS7's you get a more durable lifter and a much lighter weight lifter compared to the heavy AFM lifters. Might as well throw in a small blower cam while you are in there, along with stronger valvesprings. Your 5.3L #243 or #799 casting heads are allready awesome from the factory in terms of flow to support a modified 5.3L.
