Got an email from GM and they are offering 77 for a year or 20 for 5 months with no reactivation fee. Price is good until 25 December. I think I may do the one year deal. Call 1-877-486-3860 if interested. Maybe they can give you the same price if you ask.

For XM CANADA users....just today I got a year at CDN$99, (regular $170 or so) and the XM Online+ thrown in for free (normally 2.99/mo) It let's you listen online and on your mobile device.

The regular Sales Dept gave me the first deal when my free trial expired and I told them SIRIUS was offering it, but that's all they could do, and i wanted online/mobile listening like I had w/ SIRIUS. I had to threaten to cancel and be transferred to Cancellation Dept and told them that SIRIUS has online/mobile listening for free (which they do), and then they matched it as well.

(For those wondering, in Canada XM and SIRIUS are still separate companies.)

They called me on the phone night before last with the same offers. I went for the five month deal and had them send me the invoice.

Oh, and much to my disappointment... the "Best of Sirius" is also not available in Canada

It pisses me off how you can't get life time with these companies anymore...

I thought about getting the lifetime subscription a couple of years ago. But the deal only covered the original receiver at the time. I am glad i didn't take the deal because my receiver crapped out after about a year. Also a few other people i know had there receivers pack it in too. I am talking about using them in heavy equipment where they get jolted and shook up pretty bad all day.

Thanks for the heads up. I tried to get this deal when I bought my second XM radio for my cruiser back in October, but they wouldn't do it. Since I have the mostly music package, they weren't going to give me a discount at all. But the customer service lady ended up giving me a 3 month free trial. Hopefully I can lock in the $77 per year.

Still not a good enough deal for me. XM sound quality is inferior to my local radio stations and I have enough variety I can flip channels when a commercial break starts. And when I was listening to XM during my free year, most of what's played is obscure stuff that's not very good. I found myself going back to classic rock channels to stay entertained, which I have four stations locally to choose from. So XM/Sirius would have to offer something fantastic like $25 per year before I would even consider it.

I could understand that for someone who listens to classic rock. Those kinds of stations (what theres like only 2) on sirius do play garbage songs most of the time.

Is there a promo code for this? I called yesterday because our free trial is expiring in a couple of weeks and the best they would offer was 6 months at $77. He said I needed a promo code. I said I would just let my service lapse then and he added another 3 months free.
