Another Xm Upgrade Thread

I have read thru most XM upgrade posts and still have questions.

My Savana is equipped w/U1C std cd player.

Want to add XM so I need a head unit equipped w/cat button in order to be XM ready.

I have been looking at several & found a unit w/dvd also. Is it possible to utilize the DVD output and power up a monitor?

I have also read the posts about the 2010 units and USB, but USB is not that important to me. Mainly want XM without a seprate drop in unit.

You will not only need the radio with the CAT button, but you are going to need the XM module as well. XM is not integrated into the radio on these. Word of advice - don't but a junkyard one because it has been burned for the VIN it was originally in and you WILL NOT be able to get it programmed to work. Also, the DVD head unit MAY require the Bose system with amp in order to work. All of this will require dealer programming too.

Got a dealer takeout 6disc mp3 head unit.

Got a single wire antenna xm module.

I need the wiring diagram from the head unit to the xm module.

I have the complete set of factory service manuals for 08 van from GM. The wiring for power and speakers is there, but not the XM module.

Anyone have a takeout harness.........?

Update, found a new 17801150 XM kit complete for $109. Great deal considering I was still looking for an antenna.

Hoping someone here has a service manual set for the GMT 900 so I can compare the pin locations on the harness to Savana. All should be good tho as the radio part #'s interchange.

Anyone???

GM literature says no XM kit for '08 Savana that is why I want to be sure all pin locations are correct and present
