headnorth Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Had the oil consumption issue fixed last week per the service bulletin and will see how much I've burned over the next 1500 miles. This morning when I put it in gear two warning lights came on and had three messages alternating in the msg center....engine power reduced, service stabilitrak and service traction control. Had put the flashers on when leaving the red lights until I could get it up to 30 mph. Dropped it off at the dealer and they were initially a little puzzled since I only have 43,000 miles on it. Anybody out there experienced anything similar to this???
maxco Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I had a similar issue a year or so ago with my '08. I didn't have stabilitrack or trac. control, but it did say engine power reduced and shifted SUPER hard. Brought it to the dealership and I think they replaced a connection that had moisture problems?
08AllTerrain Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 My '08 Sierra did the same thing today..all three messages. I called Onstar and was told the throttle control sensor dealing with the engine, apparently there are four in different places, was not reading correctly so it killed stabilitrak and traction control while also reducing engine power. I was told to turn it off for and let it sit for a few minutes in hopes that it would reset and it did. I also checked what connections I could under the hood because I was involved in a fender bender couple of days ago and wanted to make sure no wires or connections had came loose. Anyways though I drove on for over 200 miles and no more issues. I plan on going to the dealer tomorrow to get it checked out and get the check engine light reset. Hasnt been a good week for my poor truck...the wreck was caused by a guy rearending me which caused me to hit a Xterra in front of me. Only damage I have is on my front bumper and grille.
