Remote Start

I have a 2011 with code AUO so I don't have the Remote starter prep. I asked them to order the 2 way remote start that I read on GMPD can work with AUO. They ordered the standard system instead and told me none of the GM systems work with AUO. are they lying or do I have to go aftermarket? thanks

The only remote start that I see listed for the 2011 is the standard one that you must have RPO of AP8 for. GM has also temporarily stopped installing these in the 2011 because of a programming issue.

I would just go aftermarket alarm with RS. I mean from what I have read AUO is for the key less entry. Maybe I am wrong but either way... aftermarket

I did a little checking....they do list a GM 2-way remote start system with code AU0,But not for the 2011 model-year as of yet.

I agree on aftermarket. but be warned that some of those businesses have worthless employess. only use a good reputable place thats been in business for a long time. ive been fighting the place that installed mine for a while now and i still dont have reverse lights cause of them and the mess of wires they left under the dash.

perfect. just the info i was looking for. If they tell me exactly this fine. If they lie to me we've opened a whole new can of worms lol. I gave them that PN and told them to check it out. If they don't list the 11 fine but they can't tell me it isn't listed for 07-10 like I said

IF I do go aftermarket I'll only be using a good shop. I wanted the GM one because of the wire hack jobs I have seen but I will just be picky if I have to go that way

Viper (made by DEI) has a full interface module available which will require minimal wiring and will work and have the heated seats and defrost too

Let us know Mike,I just got off the phone with our GM-ADI here and found out they finally released the reprogram codes for the 2011's for the regular remote start system,But I didn't ask them about the 2-way advanced system.

I will... I had to push to get them to even get this for me because the parts guys didn't want to research it. they ordered the basic kit for me when I said specifically the 2 way, and wasted an hour of the tech's time and mine while he tried to get it working
