Door Handles

In order to prevent tearing the door apart to replace the whole handle,

are the stick on chrome handle covers any good.

I have been considering buying a set from Putco. They appear to be of decent quality and are about $ 80 for a 4 door crew cab set, and about half that for a 2 door truck.

I too am rather discouraged by having to take 4 doors apart to install body color GM door handles.

We use the Putco ones where I work, and they are pretty nice. I'd tear it apart before resorting to stick on's. I swapped out my dad's on his 08 GMC and it wasn't too bad of a job at all, if your somewhat mechanically inclined, you shouldn't have much trouble.

But if your not into that, good brand name chrome covers would be a good option

I have swapped mine twice and literally just got done doing a buddy's 4 door 30 minutes ago. took about an hour for all 4. not hard at all

From 5 feet or better you can't tell that the stick ons, are stick ons.

A guy at work has a new body style Tahoe that he put some stick on chrome door handles and they look like poop. You still the painted handle underneath when you are closer than 10 feet. It's not that hard to do it right. The oem chrome ones don't cost that much more either. There are instructions on this forum somewhere and it's not hard. If you have a nice truck, don't make it look like you bought it at pep boys.

I would go with the GM door handles. They are not that hard to replace. I have seen some stick-on covers that had rough edges that would cut your hand when you grab the door handle. They were probably a cheaper brand. Putco is normally good quality so that may not be an issue.
