Seen A Ram Lately?

Anyone looked at the 2010 Ram 1500 and seen the 'in floor' storage options in the second row under the floor mats? Not to mention the storage box in the side of the cargo box and built in storage under the rear seats. Now why cant Chevy and GMC come up with a nifty idea like that? Makes me want to cut a hole in my floor and install something on my own.

Side of cargo box storage...ever looked at a Chevy Avalanche? GM has put side of cargo box storage on them since they came out.

have had two Avalanches previously. The side bags are great. Looks like you could put a storage box in with a flushmount lid similar to what is on high end bass boats. Thinking of having a custom underseat storage box made that has a lid on it wrapped in black marine grade carpet. Come on GM Engineering...get on board (LOL).

I much prefer the flatish floor so I can put larger items in the back seat when its snowing or raining than having a locking area under the seats. The GM has the same space under the seats, if you want something there just put a tote or something under the seat. That way you can at least move it if you want to put something back there and not have all the space occupied. As for the in floor storage I guess that would be good except its really really small. Definately there is more storage under the middle bench seat in the GM than there is in those in floor cubbies.

I've always had a Chevy, but I regret not taking the RAM for a test drive before buying. My girlfriend's uncle bought a brand new one loaded to the tits and it's a great looking truck. I have no hate for Dodge, just prefer GM.

FWIW, I don't want any boxes under my seats and I don't want the side-wall tool boxes. The "side wall" storage comes straight out of the bed space. I haven't driven the new Ram, so no opinion there. They do look sharp though.

Give it about a year for the K2xx to hit the streets. It will have most of these features and more. Keep in mind that the GMT900 is the oldest full size platform out there. GM had some lean times & was forced to let the GMT900 rot on the vine instead of upgrade the plateform until the K2XX could hit the streets in late 2011.

:rolleyes::dunno::D

How long did the other previous platforms go?

GMT-900 - 07 - current (5 MYs)

GMT-800 - 99-07 classic (9 MYs)

GMT-400 - 88? - 99

Test drove a Tundra just to see... great storage places in the cab... nicely layed out too. Nice truck... but I cracked my head on the door frame getting in! :rolleyes: How is that possible in a full size pickup??
