My Truck Is Black Again

My truck has been white with salt for the last couple weeks. Since it has been below 20 degrees i have been using the touchless car wash. The "laser wash" does a better job by itself. Cleans and dries better. The "Rapid Wash" basically sucks other than having wheel brushes. Does not clean and does not dry.

Today I hit the "Rapid wash" just to get the salt off but then took it home in the garage and went over it with Meguire's Quick detailer and did the wheels, tires and interior. I am pretty happy with what i got.

By the way, Meguire's quick detailer smells great but the interior detailer smells awful. Defintily looking for something else for the interior.

Try using some of the Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer... Has the hydrophobic properties in it. Water just rolls off!

for the inside trim/dash depending on what your goals are, try some of the Ultimate Protectant if you want a HIGH GLOSS shine or the Natural Shine for a more natural look. Both smell much better then the Quick interior detailer.

I agree. I also use the Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax, makes the shine last longer and easier to wash off the dirt. Just be sure to use a nice clean mircofiber towel when using these sprays.

Makes me jealous of people who have full size garages that can do these detailing touch-ups in the winter, and keep their truck indoors. I park on the street so all I can do is rinse off the truck, then watch helplessly as the snow plows throw dirt and slush all over her again. My black truck reverts back to a putrid 'road salt grey' color 2 days after taking it through the car wash.

I know what you are saying. I know its a truck and i don't mind it looking like it has done some work, when it has. For the past 2 weeks i have been in the mountains and running a lot of highway so it was a mess. I am back in town now and i would like it to look good but it is no use. The news said the state has already used 75 tons of salt. i think it is all stuck to he black vehicles up and down the road.

The garage is nice. The first I have ever had. I could never live without it now. It is my Garage, Gym, Wood Shop, Party palace, Game Room, Den, Lounge, Butcher Shop, and if need be Guest bedroom. All of my neighbors have their gargages crammed with crap. Mine is 100% usable and still stores a lot of junk.

I have a black car so I know the pain you guys feel! I need to take my truck through the wash or go over to the quick do it yourself wash...hmmmm that gives me an idea........ Mine is so salty. They now use this stupid spray on salt on our highways that sticks to your truck like glue!!

I have a black car so I know the pain you guys feel! I need to take my truck through the wash or go over to the quick do it yourself wash...hmmmm that gives me an idea........ Mine is so salty. They now use this stupid spray on salt on our highways that sticks to your truck like glue!!

No kidding! It almost looks like the salt has been sprayed on, first warm day Im doing a quick rinse.

No kidding! It almost looks like the salt has been sprayed on, first warm day Im doing a quick rinse.

Added the Weathertech no drill mud-flaps to my truck and I'm quite surprised how much it has cut down on the spray though. Still filthy but not as bad as last year.

I wanted mud-flaps but wasn't too keen on drilling holes, just checked out the Weathertech website, seems like an easy install. Thanks for the info!
