Retrofit Fog Lights To 2011 Equinox 1lt

I'm wondering if the Equinox 1LT models will allow for the wire harness for the headlights and combo switch for the lighting to be swapped with the parts for a 2LT and allow factory-like operation of the fog lights, and is there any difference in the parts/part numbers needed from 2010 to 2011 model years?

There are a couple threads about adding the factory fog light bezels/lights and hardwiring that setup on various forums, but so far nobody has attempted (or posted about) replacing the front light harness with a harness intended for a 2010 Equinox w/ 2.4L engine WITH foglights (the 1LT doesn't offer them/ the 2LT does) AND replacing the combo-stalk with one from 2010 with the integrated fog-light switch (band). Is this possible? Will merely changing that combo-switch and the harness be sufficient? Are provisions for foglights in the steering column/fuse box already ( meaning the trim level dictates the addition/deletion of the switch/wire harness? I know there is a micro-relay present in the underhood fuse box in my 2011 1LT that is supposedly for foglights.

I'd prefer to have the setup operate as much like factory as possible- thanks to the location of the factory fog light switch, I'd have to drill into the dash panel to put in a non-factory switch, which I'd prefer not to do if I can avoid it.

I've checked a couple dealers around me (Capital Region, NY)- one pushed me to the parts guy who said there is no kit, and doesn't see any part numbers for '11. Another dealer said getting the 2010 light harness/lights/switch would suffice and they could put the stuff in- no BCM programming would be necessary.

I guess my question boils down to this: can the front light harness for a 2010 Equinox WITH Foglights and Combo-switch WITH foglights be swapped into a 2011 Equinox that does not have fogs without further wiring issues (that I can't seem to find anything about)? The parts are listed here (harness) and here (switch) but have no actual part numbers listed on the site.

Thanks in advance,

Mike
