Anyone Have 2 Way Remote Start Without Factory Prep?

My dealer is hounding me for a VIN on someone's truck who has the gm kit without the RPO for remote start. the Parts department says it can be done the tech doesn't believe it though.

 

Thought dealers wanted to help their customers? Instead I have to "Prove" it to them............

What is the RPO that it should not have? I have the 2 way remote installed on my 2010 SL. It was a pretty basic truck (SL is just a W/T with pwr windows and locks, also called the Nevada package and came with trailer hitch pkg, locking diff, and spare tire lock), so may be one that does not have that prep installed. I know they had to install the extra antenna in the back window for the remote start.

From what i researched, there are different advance kits for option codes RP8 and AU0.....check this web site out.....select year, make ,model, etc.......

Option code RP8 can be used with a basic remote starter...part#17801236

 

 

All GM remote starter kits must be installed by the dealer.
