Cam Position Sensor

The 'service engine soon' light comes on for two or three days and then goes out for the same. I thought possibly it was possibly the gas cap. I was finally able to capture a code and it showed two different ones but seem to be related.

Cam position sensor A CKT RNG/Perform BNK 1

Cam Position Sensor A Bank 1 CKT Low Input

 

Any idea what I have going on here and how to service it. I don't even know where the sensor is located. The engine appears to be running good as I can't tell it has changed any. The truck has 160K on it and have owned it since new.

Cam sensor should be on the front timing cover of the engine. #1 in picture.

Any thought about how it can be fixed? Is that one part likely to be the problem or will I need to chase it to other components?

Can't say for sure, but they are known for problems with cam sensors. I would replace it and see what happens
