GPGuy Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I was at the do it yourself car wash last night and after I was finished I pushed the remote start button to start the truck which it did but a few seconds after that it shut off. So I started it with the key and it started and ran fine. So I shut it off and used the remote start again and it started up and shut down again. Started it with the key again and it was fine. So I decided to try it again with the remote and this time it worked fine. I've also tried it a number of times since last night just to test it and it's fine. Any ideas what might have caused this? I did not wash the engine bay at all. Hopefully it doesn't come back but just wondering if anyone has heard of this. Just had the remote start installed a couple of weeks ago, but has worked fine outside of that time.
khancock Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Why type of remote start did you have put it? Was the install done by an authorized dealer? Might be worth giving the installer a call?
xertechx Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 My 07 did this a lot, my 11 hasn't done it once. I wonder what they changed.
GPGuy Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Factory remote start from GM (regular version) and the hardware was already in the truck, all they had to do is program. Touch wood hasn't happened since.
