Pulling Atv's 1600 Miles W/2006 Z71, Advice

I just had the tranny fluid changed about 12,000 miles ago. I gotta haul two full size ATV's from NH to Arkansas on a 16ft landscape trailer. Should I change the fluind again, or do anything else before I leave? Feedback is welcome.

two fullsized atv's with that trailer is not a big load..... depending on how many miles you have on your truck you should NEVER EVER change the fluid, itll tear your tranny up.

IMO, you should be fine without doing more to tranny.

I am. The torque converter hd to be replaced a year ago and the fluid was changed then. I just wonder that over the long distance of 1600 miles, the constant load would ear and tear the fuluid to much. The ruck has 88,000 on it now.

If you were hauling 12,000 lbs. in the heat of summer, uphill, then I'd say yes.

 

A couple ATV's & a trailer can't weigh more than 3,600 lbs., if you have a couple Polaris 4x4's & a 10K GVWR dovetail car hauler. Everything else out there will be much lighter.

i didnt think the 4 speeds had overdrive- mine only says drive. unless you mean keep it in three?

Get a dashhawk so you can monitor tranny temps if your that worried.
