adam.t.mazzara Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Hows it going? I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 4x4 with an AC issue. The issue is, I replaces the compressor and clutch last October and now the ac is blowing warm air and the clutch is not cycling. The pressure on the low side sits at about 43psl when AC is on (clutch not cycling at all), then when I jump the switch from the cycle switch it runs down to about 10psi. Is the run down to 10 psi normal? My question is do I need a new AC cycling switch? When I jump it to cycle there is still no cold air coming out of the vents. Could it be my cycling switch, or do I need an ac charge also? Any information is helpful. 1st time user of the Forum. Thanks much, Adam
8.1HD/ALLISON Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Sounds like the pressure cycling switch is not doing its job, UNLESS something is not letting the a/c engage, like low outside temp( around 35degrees or colder) or low on refrigerant. I don't think it should get down to 10 psi when running, thats kinda low. . What does the high side read? Im guessing you are low on refrigerant.

It is when I jump the cycling switch with a paper clip, it cycles down to 10, when a/c is not cycling it is at about 40ish psi. Should I load a can of refridgerent and a new cycling switch?
