Hid Projectors

Just want to see who else has done this. I bought a pair of Morimoto Mini H1's and put them in a Denali housing. Will try to snap some pics of the light and the cutoff tonight. All in all, they work really well and the light output is decent. I also did the 6 HI mod and it is bright to say the least.

I think the hardest part of the retrofit was aiming the projectors and getting the cut off straight.

I mean compared to a halogen reflector. I noticed that the stock housing would scatter the light and it was not uniform. When I went to the projector, the light was more uniform and no hot spots. Wasn't able to grab pics last night, will try tonight of the cut off.

Don't mind the snow and salt....didn't have time to wash and it just snowed again anyway.

i did this also ill get some pics, i had problems getting mine straight idk if i didnt get them tight enough, they dont seem to be as straight as they were

Thanks Doug.

Ya putting them in a silvy is a bit tough because you have to really modify the housing. If you can, go to the wrecker and get another pair of housings to do it. That way you have your stock ones. That's what I did, I have my factory ones and then I can also change the denali set back to halogen if I really wanted too.

Wait a minute, those denali ones didn't come with projectors in them?

That gmt-900 looks pretty good, is that aftermarket or custom?

DB1987- truck looks good, need some pics of the cutoff.

The Denali lights came with a factory halogen projector. I had to retrofit the morimotos in and they are the closest one that I can see that will fit. A lot of others are longer, wider and the lens is bigger. I also made use of my 9006 bulbs in the h1 projector. That is why I asked Doug (herk) how the light output is, because I am not sure if there is a major difference between the 9006 and the h1 other than the way it mounts (and I think the arc is 2mm closer to the base on the 9006). I don't think it will make a major difference but then again I am not sure.
