Well i just got this truck and it has 45k on it. I wanted to change the oil, transmission flush, transfer case, front and rear diffs, and spark plugs. Here is my question. When I went to get parts a 2007 classic does not come up on the list of trucks. Its 06 or 07. They do not have the same parts listed for them. What do I do? I want to make sure I get the right parts/oil for my truck.

It has the 5.3 flex fuel, g80 locker, 4speed, push button 4x4. I have the build sheet if you need to know the parts. Im going to switch everything to synthic

I have an 07 new body style and have run into the same problem . I have got to where I tell them its an 08. I bet most parts on an 06 are the same as your 07 old body style. Just tell them its an 06.

I just want to make sure that everything that is used on a 06 would be fine for the 07. When I ordered floor mats I just ordered them for a 06 but I didnt want to be messing around with the engine and tranny.

As Leo said,Just tell them its an '06 and you'll be fine for most parts.

*HOWEVER* The one thing that is different is the transfer case fluid,Your '07 GMT800 "Classic" probably has the AutoTrak transfer case which uses GM specific AutoTrak II fluid *DO NOT* use anything but the GM AutoTrak II fluid.

(For reference most '07-up GMT900 trucks now use Dexron VI ATF in the transfer case in place of AutoTrak fluid)

Ok, I guess ill have to look at the build sheet to see which one I have. How are the GM dealers? I had a Jeep before and Mopar sucked. Everything way super over priced.

I would imagine all you need to know is what sort of 4WD control you have- is it a lever or buttons? If it has buttons is there an "Auto" one? If so, then you have autotrac. If not, then you don't.

I have the push button. so it must be the autotrac.

So here is what I know so far...

Mobil1 5w30 for the engine ( 5qts?)

GM autotrak fluid for the transfer case. how much do I need?

So leaves the axles and transmission.

I would like to use Mobil1 gear oil in the axles. what weights?

At the parts store they have AFT that says for GM trucks. can I use that?

So here is what I know so far...

Mobil1 5w30 for the engine ( 5qts?) 6 qts

GM autotrak fluid for the transfer case. how much do I need? 2 qts

So leaves the axles and transmission.

I would like to use Mobil1 gear oil in the axles. what weights? 75-90 or 80-90

At the parts store they have AFT that says for GM trucks. can I use that? use Dexron VI ATF ONLY

Not totally sure on that- you might've been able to get pushbutton and NOT the auto setting. Fluid amounts/specifications are all in your manual.

He has AutoTrak.

I trust ya, no worries. :smash: My 03 had the manual shifter so I never paid much attention to the specialty fluid the other trucks needed,

It did not come with the manual.

Ok looks like I have all of the info I need.

As far as plugs I was going to use NGK plugs and wires.

EDIT:

How much oil does the front take and the rear? 3qts rear 2.5 front?

Also the tranny? 8qts?

Most people on here will tell ya to stay with AC Delco stuff.

Ok, AC Delco it is!

I know with my jeep I had to get gear oil with Limited Slip Additive. I would think that I would not need that for the rear because its a locker but I would need the additive for the front.
