Chrome Skin Removal On Stock Wheels

I want to know if there is a way to remove the chrome skin on the stock ls wheels, or should I look for police wheels from the dealer? I really like the look of the black rims to use for my winter set.

It's chrome plated so it will be very dificult, but you can sand them and paint them black.

From what I understand, its a plastic that they press onto the rim. So its not quite a hubcap but looks like one.

Huh, I didn't know this, I thought they were chrome plated steel, I guess that explains why they don't rust then. We'll just have to wait for someone who knows more about them then.
