Just Got It Back

So just got my truck back from the mechanic shop. I was driving down the bypass and my fuel pump decided to crater on me and kill my truck while driving. It was pretty sweet i tell you. So i didnt have the girl for a few days, used the company truck for my own driving haha. But new upraded fuel pump and labour gave a nice touch of $855 and thats after a $100 tooken off cuase the owner knew my dad.

So now the question should i sell the ol girl? I love this truck alot and i would run it into the ground if it were me, but the last things i havent changed yet is the tranny, transer case and the rear diff. and those are pricey. So im kinda keepn an eye out for a new truck. Between the years of 2000-2007. My budget is 10k and under. A crew cab and 4x4 is a must with the new kid on the way. Kinda hate to say by to the truck, its been a great truck.

But id like something with no suprises especially with a new born.

i'd keep the truck if you like it alot and buy a newer one...my last chevy i loved to death and planned to drive it til it was a skeleton but when the seals began to go i had to get rid of it..if the truck is still in good working order and you enjoy it still, keep it

Yeah, I couldn't imagine selling mine, it was my first truck and I've never had any problems with it. I just attach to stuff like that, I guess I'm weird. But if you can give it up, then do it and trade up to something with a gen III engine or higher, you'll be satisfied.

well i had a 1999 GMC Sierra ECLB dually and it was my first truck. i got rid of it at 150k becasue it needed a lot of work but i regret getting rid of it becasue i loved that truck to death. dont get me wrong, my 01 silverado i got is very nice, its more sound, comfy, better handling, faster, smoother, but its just not nearly as much truck as my 3500 was and i really wish i kept it. i didnt have the money to keep it, and i now have a lot of money and wish i kept it. ahhh

but in your situation, 4 doors would be A LOT better for throwing a kid in the back.. do you mean Crew Cab or Extended cab? but then again, from what i have seen its gonna be kinda hard to find a GMT800 with decent miles thats not a reg cab WT for under 10.

I didnt think I could sell mine either but after 9 yrs I did. I actually dont miss it at all, the new truck is so much better. I get to see it once and awhile here at work.

I would say get a new one now before the little one gets here.

My new truck was delivered to the dealership about 3 hrs before my son was born. Picked it up 2 days after we brought him home, his second trip out of the house was to the Chevy dealer :D

Keep it. I am going to try and hold on to my first truck(in sig) for as long as i can. I'll probably get another truck in my lifetime, but i will always keep my first truck to play around with. I really want to put a cummins 4bt motor in it so i can get 25 MPG...but well worry about that when the 5.3 goes

if you can i would park it, and buy a newer one. one that will be reliable, since money may be tight with a baby on the way. then when the little one gets bigger and you get more money you can start playing around with it again.

With a baby on the way, get the 4door crew cab. I really wish I would have spent a little extra and got that. My extended cab works ok for my 2 children and their car seats but 4 doors would have been better. Memory seats are also nice. I have one setting for when my son is behind me and one for ridin solo.

yeah im keeping my eye for a crew cab 4x4. the gfs dad wanted me to buy new. Its not that payment im worried about its just insurance payment haha.

but a funny story that just recently happened today, he came to drop me off cause i helped him load the snow blower on the back of his sled deck. he got stuck with his truck in front of my driveway. He also owns a dodge cummins crew cab dually. He is a huge dodge fanatic. So i laughed and i walked to my truck fired it up drove thru a snow drift and pulled him out. He had his head down lol
