Hello,I'll start by saying this site is the best for getting answers to questions about G.M.trucks!

My ? is about a 09 silverado 2500HD ext cab 8ft. bx LTZ, w/9200 gvw trailer pkg., but it does not have the plow prep pkg. . While under the truck to chg. oil I noticed that it's sitting on the frt. bump stops at rest unloaded !

The frt. axel is a 4200# with the 6GK/7GK T-bars, I bought it used from a chevy dealer w/12,000miles are these

NNBS trucks designed to sit that close to the bump stop? Does'nt seem right to me Any info/comments will help!

Thanx in advance Dave :lol::smash:

Focijoe ,thanx for the return post. The t-bars have not been touched,and the truck has'nt beenworked hard,but when it's sitting on level ground with out a load the lower control arms are slightly touching the bump stops. Any one else with some info? Hundreds of users on here some one else must have this conition also? Info ,comments, thoughts will be helpful!!! thanks

Mine sits on the bump stops like yours, but I cranked my bars up 1". I don't know If they were touching the control arms stock. You bought your truck used correct? How can you be sure the torsion bars were not touched? Just wondering.

they're designed to sit within 1/2 an inch or on it

if you notice theres two "steps" to the bumpstop, the larger portion you see is a softer compound which gives you ride quality while the second step is hard to actually stop the suspension. alot of aftermarket lift companys tell you to keep the bumpstop either just barely touching or within half an inch or so, so yes THATS NORMAL!!!!

Hey, ruggedlife

Thanks for the reply on the bump stops! I thought that it would be something to do with ''ride'' because this truck's ride is great . I did not hotice the 2 stage design of the jounce bumper and now it makes sense. I had concernse about this as I will be putting a large Lance camper on it and hittin' the beach and elsewhere this year and thought I might have had a problem. But now sounds o.k. Well I'am looking at some other mods to do and thats one less worrie

Thanks Guys! Dave :cheers::)
