slimjim2525 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I just recently picked up an 04 2500HD GMC. I have the factory radio with the CD and casette players. Is there a way to tell if this radio is XM capable? I press the band button and get 2 for FM, and 1 for AM, but no XM. I thought all these radios were XM compatable. At least my 04 and 07 1500's were. Thanks. Here it is just today getting my blown motor F150 out of a parking lot.
seasled Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 that was an expensive snowmobile trip ! lol ~sea
slimjim2525 Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Hey sea. Yeah, you ain't kidding. Love this GMC though. Man it pulled that truck and trailer with no problems. I tell ya, no more 1/2 tons for me. Going up to the NEK with it this weekend with 3 sleds. One in the bed, two in the trailer.
slimjim2525 Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Anyone know the answer to my question?
06Voy Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 They are all Xm capable as far as I know but not all of them come with the Xm tuner. You can buy a factory tuner or terk used to atleast make one that is almost the same as the factory tuner that will plug into the radio.
Shaners Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 If he truck has XM there should be 2 nubby antennas on the roof. One for Onstar and the other for XM.
