I recently purchased a 2011 Silverado 1500 LT Z71, and i want to put a lift and tires on it. I am currently considering a 6inch BDS Suspension with 35X12.5 wheels. I was wondering what needs to be completed after the lift is installed ? Such as how do I recalibrate the odometer and what needs to be done after the larger tires are installed ? Should i worry about the handling of the truck and messing up the gears cause of the larger tires ? I would appreciate any help and I cant wait to get the project started.

The odometer can be calibrated using a hand held tuner, a custom tune, etc. There may be a way to have the odometer reset without getting a tuner or tune but I'm not sure.

 

My truck handles fine with 35's and rides just as smooth.

 

Changing the gears is really dependent on what set up you have now. Which motor, transmission, and gears are currently in the truck.

 

I have a 5.3 with a 4speed and had 3.73 gears. I swapped the gears out to 4.88's but it all depends on what set up you have now.

 

I will tell you to make sure you get a positive offset wheel to reduce rubbing.
