Replacement Brakes, What Do You Use And Recommend? Why?

My 2002 Silverado 1500 needs the brakes replaced on all 4 corners. What replacement components are you using, "NAPA, Autozone, Raybestos, Carquest and so on" "rotors, pads, fluid and so on". Do you recommend them? Why? What do you like and not like about them? What components do you NOT recommend using? Do you use your brakes hard, "towing"? May be interesting to see what everyone is using and recommends. Thanks for any input.

I am using Wagner Severe Duty pads, I tow a boat and a car trailer with my Tahoe and wanted more braking power. I was told these Severe duty pads are what they use OEM for Police Duty.

6 mos now and I like them. The first stop when cold uses a little more brake pedal to get them warm but as the heat comes up they work better and better. Have not experienced any fade so far.

Use good quality rotors, some of the import stuff can be really cheap.

I've had different sets of pads in my GM Trucks & SUV. I've had the best luck with Raybesto Brake Pads & Wagner Brake Pads. You do get wat u pay for. The more expensive pads are way better, very little brake dust and very quiet brakes. I've gotten cheaper brake pads and they get a lot of brake dust and very loud.

I ran a set of Napa pads for 2 months and had excessive brake noise and shedding. It turns out that their "Premium" pads are still somewhat semi-metallic. I returned them because of the shedding and because they were $75. I then got a set of Autozone C-Max ceramic pads and have been completely satisfied. I am usually against parts with the Autozone brand on them, but I knew my dad had been running them on his 00 Silverado with no problems. No noise and no dust. I've had them 10-15K at this point.

I guess im a bit different than everyone else. I just use the cheapest pads & rotors that NAPA sells. They end up lasting me longer than I expect them to. I dont tow much but i do alot of highway driving.
