I think they stopped putting EGR valves in 5.3s around 2003. I remember looking for one in mine for while. glad it's not there.

I looked at a friend's today and it's missing from that spot too.. I do believe though that they used to put it there.. Still need to find it.. any help???

2001 was the last year for egr. :( You're lucky, have you checked fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, plugs, and wires? The "normal" stuff. You don't get any reduced engine power message do you?

Haven't checked fuel pressure... no codes for it. Have found no vacuum leaks but I don't know everywhere to look.. Plugs and wires seem fine, but it's a random misfire, so that shouldn't be the problem.
