Installing Powersteps On 2011 Gmc Sierra 2500hd Cc

Finally got our truck and I am planning the install for the PowerSteps. One of the installation steps is to see if there are door ajar wires on the pink connector on the BCM. I think the BCM is the black box near the brake pedal. It has a couple of arrows on it, perhaps indicating to squeeze it to remove. I tried and it does not want to come off. There is a plastic button that may be holding it on, not sure how to remove that...

 

I was sure that I had read somewhere here on the forum about removing that cover and made a mental note to search for it when I needed it. I have been searching a bit now and not finding what I need.

 

Anyone had the BCM cover off (if there is one, perhaps I am not even looking at the right part)?

that's not the bcm that's the mbec (mid bussed electrical center). To access the bcm you need to remove the dash cover where your knees are.

Thanks, I'll have to have a look at that then. Any secrets to getting that panel off?
