I just picked up a 03 Chevy 2500 6.0 5spd extend cab short bed with a little over 118k on it. I traded a atv for it. :D The truck is not perfect and is at the shop right now having the transfer case rebuilt, but I think I got a fair deal. I live in CO, and met the guy in NV (long story). Pulled it home with my Cummins and been searching for info on this style truck. It's a base grade roll up windows and such, but all the reading I've done so far have all been with the auto transmissions. Any one any info good bad or ugly on this set up?

Here are the only two pictures I have on it so far....

Welcome to the forums. You should be able to locate a good deal of info on the truck in the HD section and feel free to ask any questions you may have as I'm sure they'll be answered shortly.

Welcome!

If you have another ATV to trade, I have an 01 GMC 2500 with 200k on it....lol

Hit up the Heavy Duty section as well as the Powertrain tech for your transmission questions.

Are the passenger door and fender repainted?

This truck has 118k and the atv I traded had no head on the motor or a carb..... lol

Yes this truck has been re painted no that rear door and bed side, and I plan to have the whole thing re painted. Not the best color match lol.

I got the transfer case rebuilt, and got it tagged/ titled totady. Now I just have to replace the rear brakes and the radio that some yahoo stole the first night I had it at my house. Hell it was still on that trailer in the picture. :dunno: Oh ya...... 6.0 with cats no mufflers and true dual pipes sounds like crap IMO. So I will be on my way to the muffler shop.

I've been searching this site for lots of info. I just haven't seen any feed back for a 6.0 with 5spd man anywhere. I've read all the mpg threads and so far I haven't seen any manual trans info, or even if the 5spd is a good option for this truck. My Cummins is a 6spd man so it doesn't bother me one bit, just looking for reading of people opinions.

I found it hard to beleive but kbb lists this base grade truck with 5spd man at $11500 good private party sell..... I'm thinking more like $7k.... or am I missing something of value of a base grade 2500hd being worth more then a LT same year etc??
