Rear Seat

Is there any kit available to make the top part of my rear seat fold down. I have a 02 Sierra Ext and only the bottom part folds up. I would like the top to fold so I can mount an amp and other goodies to the rear cab wall. I had a 96 Sierra Ext that the seat went in both directions, would be great if the 02 could do that as well. Yeah, why did they change that from the old body style?  It sure was nice to through jackets and other stuff behind it, instead of jamming them under the seat.

There are no kits available that I know of.  The back of the seat has two hooks that attach to the back wall, otherwise the top of the seat will flop down.  If you are just trying to install some amps you can always take the seat out, install them, and put the seat back in.

yep and it's pretty darn easy to do to

 

I did mine so that I can show off my amp rack at shows

 

 

 

Just loosen the nuts holding the seat in place and lift up on it till the back clears the hooks, then just tighten them back in place

 

now you can fold you back down or have it up when someone is sitting in it.

 

plus it will work  the factory way of the bottom coming up by doing it the normal way and locking it in,

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll try something like Larry and try tee handle bolts so I can do it on the fly.
