Spare Tire Question.

When my truck was new it had the stock 17s(?) on them but i had the dealership switch them out for the Tahoe 20s that i am currently running. So my question is since i have the stock spare tire under the bed, what should i do if i get a flat? I'm sure my 20s now are taller then the stock 17s, but i have not measured them. Would it be safe to run the smaller tire for a short distance until i can get the 20 inch tire fixed? Or should i try and find a 20 inch spare? Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure the diameter is the same regaurdless of stock wheel and tire combo's, at least they are on my 2010 and 2011 silverados.

You probably have the 265/70/17 spare and 275/55/20 on the wheels you;re now running? You should be fine, as that is what is standard on the new trucks with 20s from the factory.
