Where are the door switches located?

I looked in the owner's manual and my Haynes repair manual and can't seem to locate the door switches. I think they are bad possibly. My dome won't come on when the door's opened, (it's not the override) and the bell won't chime when I leave my lights on after shutting the truck off and opening the door. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause both of those things to not operate correctly. Any other ideas? I just need to find 'em to see if they are working.

They are actually located inside the door itself. They are somehow tied into the door handle/rod/latch mechanism. The only way I know how to check them is to lock your doors, and lift up on the inside door handle, your interior lights should come on if everything is working.

Are they supposed to on a '95? I didn't know when they started that feature, but they don't do that. Now I'll have to figure out how to get to them in order to fix/replace them. That's a start at least, thanks for the input. I'll be fine as far as taking the door panel off, but from there on it should be interesting. hehe.

They are the black buttons that are on the sides of the dash on the 95's. Just took mine apart a couple of weeks ago, the switch on the drivers side quit working, popped it apart cleaned up the contacts and it works fine again. If it is the switch the other door should kick on the lights unless they are both bad?

Yep, you're right man. I feel like a dumbass now.

I went out to my father-in-law's house today and he helped me locate and remove them. He's an electrician so he used all his little gadgets and checked to see if it was the switch or the wiring somewhere to them. They are both bad ironically. I'm gonna try to find a couple new ones cheap, I dunno how much they are at the dealer, but hopefully not too much. Thanks for the info doods. Laters for now.

It's all good, I appreciate any/all help I can get.

I replaced them with new ones and it solved the dome light prob, but the lights still don't chime when the door's open. I just need to figure out where the heck that's at. ???
