Are you supposed to use the whole bottle of cleaning solution? I used about 2/3 and the filter didnt turn grey just a really light red. Rinse and dried it out real good and applied the oil. Should the colour be same on both sides? Inside its still grey and outside its red. If thats enough oil im going to put newspaper around it and leave it overnight. Anything else i should do?

Just don't saturate it with oil....thats the main thing.

 

I usually blow them out (in reverse) first, than spray it with the cleaner, let it soak a bit than blow it out again. Let it dry for a bit, than oil it down than dry overnight. It should seep into the fabric overnight, and look close to uniform in color.

It's good to wrap them in newspaper after re-oiling to wick away the excess. Let it stay wrapped over night if possible.
