How often does this happen?

Jamie McMurray won his first BGN race 2 weeks after his first WC race.

How often does a driver win a Cup race before winning a Busch race?  I wouldn't think it happens very often, but I don't know.  Anybody else have any idea?

This is the first time I can remember something like this happen.

I do remember that Jimmie Johnson didn't win a BGN race until after it was anounced that he was moving to WC the following year.

But it makes me wonder, how come guys in the BGN (like Randy Lajoie, Mike Mclaughlin just to name a few) never get deals like this?

I read once where Lajoie said he had no desire to move to WC fulltime.  Maybe it's because he's had no offers, I don't know.  :chevy:   Just as well to me, I think he's an a$$ anyway.

Tony Stewart has yet to win a Busch series race....

Think back not too long ago;

Jeff Gordon was not all that big in the NASCAR BGN series, but he sure set WC on fire.

Jimmie Johnson was not all that hot as a BGN driver, either, but look at him now...

About McMurray's win. Do you think it says more about his talent or Ganassi's equipment. If it's the equip. then what does this say about Marlin.

Or do I think to much :cheers:

I think it speaks volumes about both.

Marlin has always run good.  He ran good when he was in the Junior Johnson owned #22 Mawell House Ford, but could just never get the breaks he needed.  He's been a consistent top 10 finisher over the years.

However, it doesn't matter how good the driver is, if the equipment sucks, they lose.  Example: Ken Schrader, who used to consistently finish in the top 10, now his euipment sucks and look where he is.

And good equipment doesn't mean you can win without a decent driver.  Example:  RCr has Robby Gordon and Jeff Green, good euipment $h!tty drivers, very little success.

Another good example of fast tracking to Winston Cup is Kurt Busch. A Roush scout caught Kurt tearing up the track on

Saturday nights and put him in the NCT series. Wow can this kid drive! Have a great one!
