New Grille Bowtie

Got my black bowtie from eBay today and installed it when I got home. Looks much better than the gold IMO. Excuse the dirty truck it has been raining non stop here.

I got the same bowtie, its really cool. The stock front bowtie just pops out. It just has plastic clips molded in. I de-badged my whole truck and left the back empty, but you can get the same black bowtie for the back that has 3M tape to go on.

Yeah you just reach behind the grille and push 2 plastic tabs to release them and it pops off. It is a little easier to see if you remove the radiator shroud. I removed my tailgate bowtie and don't plan on putting a new one on.

At first it did not seem to fit the curvature of the grille too well, but once you start tightening the nuts it pulls to the right shape.

I popped my front one off and spray painted it black. I'm very happy with it.

Damn you.....

I was doing some yard work and looked at the front of my truck and saw this big ole gold bowtie staring back at me. Some 600 grit sand paper and a can of flat black later and I am so far happy with the look of it . We will see if she holds through a couple of washes.

Looks nice! I'm trying to figure out if I want to do anything with mine. Not sure the black would work with the gray grill and I was thinking of maybe painting it (or getting an overlay) red. Not sure how that'd look though. I definitely don't want to paint it body color as I want some contrast between it and the grill. Then of course there's the matter of the beastly one out back...
