Time for some new tires on my 2003 Reg Cab Short Silverado. Recommended sizes ar 235/75R16 and 255/70R16. What's the tallest tire I can put on the truck without having any problems? Thanks.

2 wheel drive I am guessing? I think 265/75r16, but not for sure. Also depends if you don't mind a little rubbing. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

yeah 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive?

I was able to put 285/75-16's on mine and stock was 265/70-17 even with aftermarket Eagle Alloy wheels which had more outward offset. I had to raise my torsion bars to accomplish this though.

keep in mind your shift points and speedo will be off if you go bigger or smaller then stock size unless you get your brain under the hood updated

Or you buy a hypertuner like I have for sale in the classified section :troll:

Yep 285/75/16's will fit on stock suspension 2003 trucks no problem. Does look better if you level it out though :jester:

It's 2WD. Looks like I'll go with the 285, then take it down to get calibrated.

With the leveling kit, would it help reduce rubbing?

Thanks again.

I don't think the 285's will fit on a 2 wheel drive but could be wrong. Do those have the torsion bar front end so you can raise the front a little? You may want to call and find out how much they charge for recalibrating the speedo because a used tuner may be cheaper in the long run and you can put it back to stock if ever needed without paying again for a recal.

Got a buddy running 285/75/16 on a 2wd stock height and he isn't rubbing at all. Rides good. GMT800's have so much more room to work with.

To the OP, yes leveling would help reduce the rubbing if you had any
