Ford Keys

I have seen a few people post that they have Ford Keys on their Chevy/GMC Trucks. Does anyone know what this is? I have just raised the torsion bars on my 2001 GMC Sierra X Cab Z71. It has a bit more stering wheel play, since the A arm bumpers are not touching. I don't know what effect this has. I just installed Centerline Rims 16" X 8" rims on BFG All Terrain T/A KO's, Thus the reason for the T-bar raise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks,

Kurt

Kurt, welcome to the forum...

The ford torsion bar keys replace the factory GM keys.  They have the notch at a slightly different angle which will pre-load the bars and allow you to gain upwards to 3" from cranking the t-bars after the install.

However, you will see problems w/ a stiffer ride after the install.
