Do ya'll think the Putco stick-on chromed accessories are any good? Right now I'm mainly thinking about the door handles. Although the side mirror plates would be nice too. I've seen some in real life and they seem to look good. Can't tell from even a short distance if they are stick-ons or real chrome handles. I just don't want to waste my money on something that will quickly deteriorate or be coming off or getting loose all the time.

Chromed stainless steel door handle covers

i personally think that any aftermarket/stick chrome ruins a truck but thats just my opinion, each to his own.

I don't care for them at all, but they are very durable. I know a couple of guys with similar accessories and they have weathered very well.

Have you looked at the replacement handles for your year model with the OEM color bezel and the chrome handle? They would look much better than the stick on Putco handles, just my opinion.

I added stainless steel bed rails and they look great on my dark truck. I'm thinking some more chrome would look good. But yeah, I know a lot of people hate chrome and want to black everything out...just personal taste.

I knew the real chrome handles would look better but I figured they might be pretty costly. Biggest problem is that I'd have to find somebody I trust to install. I don't want to take the inside door panel off myself having never seen it done. I've also been getting really picky lately with who I let touch my truck. After that bed liner deal I'm not letting just anybody touch my truck, even on something simple.

painted handles would look great

$72 from GM Parts Direct plus shipping & handling. Or, you can get them from Stonebriar Chevrolet for $85 plus S&H and tax, which may be close to GM Parts direct price when everything is totaled. Part number is 17801134 for the two door handles.

Appreciate the info. I need to see if I can dig around and find a tutorial or something where somebody takes the door panel off.

Good luck. While you're installing the new handles, I'd also install a set of jimmi jammers to keep thieves from punching in the door locks to gain acces to your vehicle.

I have the same truck, Ive taken the door panels off many times, for speaker work, its extremely easy-ish, but one thing is you will need some start bits to remove one I guess its a safety screw to prevent thief's from removing the panel? lol, but after that a socket and extension if needed and the rest of the pieces pop right off, Ill see if I can get pictures up of me removing the door panel.
